Job Title: Staff Software Engineer
Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Impact &contribution: The Conduct Risk Technology team is responsible for delivering high-performance surveillance solutions that support critical regulatory and compliance functions. As a Staff Software Engineer specialising in kdb+/q, you’ll play a key role in shaping the technical evolution of our time-series data platforms, implementing delta control mechanisms, and integrating advanced NLP capabilities. You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from data ingestion and real-time processing to surveillance engines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Shape the evolution of kdb+/q time-series platforms and provide hands-on engineering leadership across surveillance solutions.

Design, build, optimise, test and operate capabilities spanning data ingestion, real-time processing, surveillance engines, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
-
Implement version control, incremental data updates and change data capture mechanisms in kdb+ environments.
-
Integrate spaCy and Python with kdb+ for text processing, entity extraction and sentiment analysis.
-
Champion functional programming, data-driven architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and performance tuning.
-
Partner with Compliance, Risk and Technology stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers in kdb+/q and surveillance practices.
Essential Skills:
-
12+ Experience implementing version control, incremental data updates, and change data capture in kdb+ environments.
-
Advanced proficiency in q programming, temporal databases, and time-series analytics.
-
Hands-on experience with spaCy for text processing, entity extraction, and sentiment analysis within kdb+/Python integration.
-
Delta Control HTML5 and JavaScript for surveillance dashboards and alert visualisation.
-
Python integration with kdb+, RESTful APIs, and WebSocket connections for real-time data feeds.
-
kdb+ HDB/RDB architecture, partitioned databases, and columnar storage optimisation.
-
Experience with market data feeds, communication surveillance data, and transaction monitoring.

AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda) for kdb+ deployment and scaling.
-
CI/CD pipelines for kdb+ applications and automated testing frameworks.
-
Monitoring kdb+ processes, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
-
Microservices patterns, event-driven architectures, and distributed kdb+ systems.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including ASIC, MiFID II, and MAR.

Familiarity with machine learning workflows integrated with kdb+
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
