Job Description: SAP R2R Solution Architect

Overview 

Position Title: SAP R2R Solution Architect

Location: Hyderabad, India 

Work Schedule: Second Shift (provides a half-day overlap with Europe time zones) 

Department: Central Enterprise Architecture (EA) Team 

Role Summary 

The SAP R2R Solution Architect (T2) is a core member of the central Enterprise Architecture team, operating within the global “Design Authority” process. Rather than focusing on localized deployments, this role is responsible for reviewing proposed system changes from a global solutioning perspective. The primary mandate is to analyze proposed solutions in-depth, ensuring they are “Clean Core Compliant” by relying strictly on standard SAP features or established architecture patterns, and providing alternative standard recommendations when necessary. 

This specialized role focuses heavily on Direct Procurement and Template Build initiatives, encompassing raw materials, packaging materials, co-manufacturing, and complex intercompany processes. 

Experience Requirements 

• Dedicated, solution-centric SAP architecture and implementation expertise. 

• Proven track record of success with at least two full-cycle SAP implementations delivered for external customers or global organizations. 

Key Deliverables 

• Solution Architecture & Blueprints: Designing scalable, future-proof SAP architectures and global templates. 

• Assessments & Reviews: Delivering comprehensive functional and technical assessments, technical specifications, and peer design reviews. 

• Governance Documentation: Authoring configuration guides and architecture best practices to maintain a standardized global template. 

• Compliance & Risk Reports: Generating risk assessment and mitigation reports for proposed architectural changes. 

Technical Skills 

Core & Domain Architecture 
 

• Strong understanding of Finance operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Treasury basics 

• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and its integration with applications like Ariba, OpenText VIM, Thomson Reuters Tax Engine, Blackline, High Radius, Central Finance (CFIN), Celonis, Multi-Bank Connectivity, SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC). 

Governance & Compliance 
Ability to manage Clean Core principles and Experience in documentation governance and compliance standards. 
           
Finance Critical Areas 
General Ledger (parallel ledgers, fiscal year variants), Accounts Payable, Product Costing (secondary/advisory knowledge), Advisory/consulting role. 

Functional Skills 

Primary Focus Areas 
 

• Core Focus: Finance processes (most complex with 9 sub-workstreams and many integrations). 
   

• Finance (GL, AP, AR), S/4HANA ecosystem understanding, Clean Core governance. 
   

Secondary & Cross-Functional Knowledge 

• Product costing, tax architecture, OpenText VIM, Ariba, BlackLine, HighRadius, Celonis. 

Soft Skills & Leadership 

• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional capability to influence, negotiate, and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders across a highly complex, global organization. 

• Communication: Fluent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical architectures to non-technical business partners. 

• Design Authority & Governance: Strong leadership presence to enforce “clean core” principles and effectively guide teams through change management and standard-pattern adoption. 

• Analytical Thinking: Superior problem-solving, risk identification, and analytical capabilities. 

• Collaboration: A team-oriented mindset built for cross-functional collaboration within a centralized matrixed team.
