Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in LAN/WAN management, Cisco Unified Wireless Networking, and Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance across branch, campus, and data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
LAN/WAN Management • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure. • Manage routing and switching environments using industry-standard protocols and best practices. • Monitor network performance, capacity, availability, and utilization. • Troubleshoot network connectivity, latency, packet loss, routing, switching, and bandwidth issues. • Ensure network resiliency through redundancy, failover, and business continuity planning. • Perform network upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of network devices. Cisco Unified Wireless Networking • Implement, configure, and support Cisco wireless infrastructure, including Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Access Points (APs), and wireless security policies. • Manage Cisco Unified Wireless Networking architecture across enterprise/campus environments. • Troubleshoot wireless issues related to coverage, interference, roaming, authentication, and performance. • Optimize wireless networks for user density, application performance, and mobility. • Support secure wireless access using 802.1X, guest access, WPA2/WPA3, and Cisco ISE integration where applicable. SD-WAN • Deploy, maintain, and optimize SD-WAN solutions for branch connectivity and traffic engineering. • Configure and manage application-aware routing, policy-based routing, centralized orchestration, and path selection. • Monitor SD-WAN health, site connectivity, and service quality across multiple links/providers. • Support WAN transformation initiatives to improve agility, performance, and cost optimization. • Troubleshoot overlay/underlay connectivity issues in SD-WAN environments. Security & Compliance • Implement network security controls including ACLs, segmentation, VPNs, NAC, and firewall coordination. • Ensure adherence to organizational security standards, change management, and compliance requirements. • Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and support audits. Operations & Support • Provide L2/L3 support for network incidents, service requests, and problem management. • Create and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, SOPs, and configuration standards. • Work closely with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams. • Participate in on-call support and plan
Skill Requirements
Technical Skills • Strong experience in LAN/WAN technologies • Expertise in routing and switching • Hands-on knowledge of: o TCP/IP o VLANs o STP/RSTP/MST o OSPF, EIGRP, BGP o HSRP/VRRP/GLBP o NAT, DHCP, DNS o QoS o VPN technologies • Strong experience with Cisco Unified Wireless Networking • Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Access Points, and centralized wireless management • Strong understanding of SD-WAN architecture and operations • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools • Experience in incident handling, root cause analysis, and performance tuning Devices / Platforms • Cisco routers and switches • Cisco wireless controllers and access points • SD-WAN platforms (Cisco preferred; other vendor experience is also valuable) Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field • Relevant experience in enterprise network operations / implementation / support • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders
Other Requirements
CCNA / CCNP Enterprise • Cisco Wireless certification (preferred) • SD-WAN certification or equivalent experience • Additional certifications in network security or cloud networking are a plus
