The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network. 

The U.S. Merchant Marketing, Global Marketing Execution & Analytics (UMGEA) team is responsible for leveraging marketing and analytics capabilities to drive sustainable growth through customer, partner, and product insights that inform the merchant value proposition, channel strategy, and investment optimization, while leveraging the full range of enterprise assets and partnerships for GMNS customers and ensuring we remain compliant as a network. 

The Global Analytics team within UMGEA is responsible for partnering with global markets to drive profitable growth, accelerating acceptance and amplifying the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants, bank partners and Card Members at scale. We offer powerful data and actionable insights to attract new businesses to engage with Amex, help existing businesses improve performance and capitalize on new opportunities.

Description:

The Global Analytics team is seeking an Analyst to support the newly created KYC Analytics team. This role will help deliver analytics, reporting, and insights that strengthen Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance, enhance risk monitoring, and support regulatory obligations across global markets.

The Analyst will partner closely with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Business teams to build scalable reporting, automate analytical processes, and generate timely, actionable insights that improve merchant oversight and support enterprise risk management. The role will also contribute to modernization initiatives, leveraging automation, scalable data solutions, and emerging capabilities such as GenAI and machine learning.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:

Build and maintain global KYC analytics and reporting solutions, including dashboards, portfolio-level monitoring, and legal entity intelligence to provide visibility into merchant risk, compliance performance, and operational effectiveness.
Analyze KYC performance, risk indicators, and compliance trends across markets to surface insights, emerging risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
Support automation of recurring analytics and data creation processes to improve speed, consistency, and reduce operational risk.
Conduct deep-dive analyses on merchant portfolios, legal entities, and operational outcomes to support stakeholder decision-making and regulatory priorities.
Deliver stakeholder-ready insights and recommendations that support KYC initiatives, business priorities, and enterprise risk management.
Partner with multiple stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable reporting and analytical solutions.
Lead or support GenAI and machine-learning proof-of-concept initiatives and adopt emerging tools to modernize KYC analytics, enhance scalability, and address evolving reporting needs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

3-5 years of relevant experience in analytical domain.
Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to convert data into actionable insights and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong collaboration skills with the confidence to influence, challenge assumptions, and build productive relationships.
Excellent business writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Google Big Query, SQL, R, Python, Lumi, PySpark and Tableau.
Experience in dispute analytics, risk operations, or in the merchant business preferred.
Experience in Machine Learning/ Cloud / Gen AI is a plus.
 

Academic Background:

Bachelors in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering/Data Science with relevant experience.
Post Graduation in Statistics/Mathematics/ Economics/Engineering/Management is a plus.
