Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.
  • Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.

In this pivotal role you will manage operations within a business area and maintain processes, risk management initiatives, and compliance with relevant regulators. You will take ownership of your work, ensuring it aligns with the relevant rules & regulations, and codes of conduct.

 You will focus on supporting and overseeing credit documentation and managing the execution of lending transactions while ensuring compliance with legal and operational requirements. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, proactive coordination with clients and business teams, and driving deals to closure through effective communication and decision making within Barclays.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:

  • Review and manage credit and legal documentation to support smooth execution of lending transactions.

  • Coordinate with clients, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and resolve documentation related queries.

  • Analyse legal drafts and ensure alignment with business, regulatory, and operational requirements.

  • Identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure all processes are completed within agreed timelines.

  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates and driving timely closure of deals.

Desirable skills set:

  • Strong experience in credit documentation and lending operations.

  • Good understanding of legal terminology, contracts, and documentation review processes.

  • Assertive personality with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities..

  • Excellent stakeholder management, client handling, and communication skills.
