Role purpose

We are seeking a commercially minded, diligent and proactive Supply Planning Manager to lead the planning of purchased finished goods across the regional supply network. The portfolio includes Inter Unit Supply (IUS) products sourced from other Castrol entities and finished goods purchased from third-party (3P) manufacturers or suppliers. The role ensures the right products are available in the right place and at the right time to meet customer demand, while balancing service, inventory, cost and supply-chain resilience.

Using Castrol’s global digital planning platform, Kinaxis Maestro, the Supply Planning Manager owns the medium-to-long-term purchased-products supply plan across warehouses, source locations and external suppliers for the assigned portfolio. The role converts demand into planned purchase and transfer requirements, identifies network, supplier, logistics and inventory constraints, and leads cross-functional mitigation through the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) processes.

The role also provides day-to-day leadership to the supply planning team, setting priorities, building capability, ensuring consistent planning standards and creating a collaborative, accountable and customer-focused team culture across locations and time zones.

What you will deliver:

1. Purchased Products Supply Planning

• Develop and maintain the medium-to-long-term supply plan for purchased finished goods, covering IUS flows and 3P sourced products, aligned with the latest demand plan, inventory targets and agreed service levels.

• Convert demand requirements into planned purchase orders, stock transfer orders and supplier or source-site requirements using Kinaxis Maestro and the relevant ERP system.

• Balance supply and demand across regional warehouses and stocking points, ensuring appropriate dependent demand is placed on Castrol source units and third-party suppliers.

• Review supply proposals, order quantities, lead times, sourcing lanes, calendars, minimum order quantities and other planning parameters in line with global planning governance.

• Identify medium-to-long-term supply constraints and recommend mitigation options for inclusion in the monthly S&OP Supply Review.

• Partner with short-term deployment and execution teams to resolve near-term shortages, delays, allocation issues and changes in supply availability.

2. Inter Unit Supply (IUS) Planning

• Own the planning of inbound IUS requirements from Castrol supplying entities, including the visibility and alignment of supply, shipment and inventory requirements across the network.
• Coordinate with source-site planners, logistics, customer service, deployment and market teams to align order timing, shipment priorities and replenishment plans.
• Monitor supply confirmations, transfer-order status, lead-time adherence and in-transit inventory, intensifying risks and driving recovery actions when required.
• Facilitate cross-market prioritisation and allocation decisions when available supply is constrained, based on demand, customer-service impact and agreed business priorities.

3. Third-Party Goods Planning

• Develop and manage supply plans for finished goods purchased from 3P manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, inventory policies and contractual or operational constraints.
• Provide suppliers and Procurement with an appropriate medium-to-long-term requirements outlook and explain material changes between planning cycles.
• Assess supplier capacity, lead times, minimum order quantities, production or shipping calendars and other constraints; incorporate confirmed assumptions into the supply plan.
• Work with Procurement, Quality, Logistics and suppliers to identify vulnerabilities, agree mitigations and improve supply reliability.
• Support New Product Introductions, tenders, product transitions and sourcing changes through scenario planning and readiness tracking for purchased products.

4. Inventory and Stock Management

• Ensure inventory availability while minimising excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock across the purchased-products portfolio.
• Identify and mitigate risks such as stockouts, overstocking, ageing inventory, delayed shipments, supplier disruption and demand volatility.
• Own the finished-goods stock allocation process for the assigned performance unit or region, based on forecast demand, service targets, available supply and inventory policies.
• Drive actions to improve inventory health, stock turns and product availability without compromising customer service or cost.

5. S&OP, S&OE and Stakeholder Management

• Provide clear supply insights, risks, opportunities, assumptions and recommendations into the S&OP Supply Review and relevant S&OE forums.
• Lead cross-functional resolution of purchased-product constraints with Supply Planning Delivery, Demand Planning, Deployment, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, Quality and source-market teams.
• Communicate supply gaps, recovery plans and business trade-offs clearly to stakeholders, ensuring timely decisions and aligned execution.
• Build effective relationships with planners and collaborators across Castrol markets, source units and third-party partners.

6. Team Leadership and Capability

• Lead, coach and develop a team of supply planning professionals, setting clear priorities, accountabilities and performance expectations.
• Build team capability in purchased-products planning, IUS, 3P supplier planning, inventory management, scenario planning and the effective use of Kinaxis Maestro.
• Establish consistent operating rhythms, workload allocation, critical issue pathways and succession or cross-training plans to strengthen resilience and business continuity.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative and improvement-oriented culture that encourages ownership, constructive challenge and knowledge sharing.

7. Systems, Analytics and Continuous Improvement

• Use Kinaxis Maestro for end-to-end supply planning, exception management and scenario analysis to improve service and availability while balancing cost and inventory.

• Maintain accurate planning master data and ensure compliance with global planning governance requirements.

• Track and analyse key performance indicators such as availability, inventory health and turns, supplier or source-site adherence, purchase and transfer plan adherence, lead-time performance and forecast consumption.

• Drive root-cause analysis and process improvements that enhance planning accuracy, responsiveness, standardisation and supply-chain resilience.

• Support digital transformation and planning-system adoption initiatives across the team and wider planning community.
