Position description: The role involves overseeing the mechanical operations and maintenance activities within the Sinter Plant at Jindal Ferrous Limited, a leading company in the Mining & Metals industry. The position requires managing the mechanical engineering aspects to ensure optimal plant performance, reliability, and safety. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. This role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to support production targets while adhering to industry standards and company policies.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Plan, schedule, and supervise mechanical maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted operation of the Sinter Plant.
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance tools.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to enhance equipment lifespan and reduce breakdowns.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards specific to the Mining & Metals industry.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimize plant performance and meet production targets.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and improvement initiatives.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives through efficient resource utilization and process improvements.
• Support the implementation of new mechanical systems and upgrades within the Sinter Plant.
